Game Notes
Hill-Murray opened their 30th
season of MSHSL play with a 13-1 victory over east side rival Johnson.
Tim Dickhudt scored the first goal just 18 seconds after the opening faceoff.
Dickhudt and Sam Kelly recorded hat tricks, and linemate Ryan Guentzel added
two goals and six assists.
Brian Arrigoni, Peter Croonquist,
and Casey Gresback scored their first varsity goals. Arrigoni scored two
shorthanded goals.
They had six extra minutes of
game time to do it, but the Pioneers' scoring outburst was their largest in
quite some time:
Last 12 goal victory margin: 1996 vs. Irondale (12-0)
Last 13+ goal game: 1991 vs. Brooklyn Center (17-2)
Last 13+ goal regular season game: 1987 vs. Humboldt (18-0)
White Bear Lake promises to be a
tougher test. The Bears have won all 7 regular season games against
Hill-Murray since 1999. Hill-Murray has won 2 of 3 playoff games in that
span.
