Game Recap Hill-Murray advanced easily into the 3AA semifinal with a 5-0 win against Stillwater. Five different players scored for HM, who scored three times in the first three minutes of the third period to break open the game. James Fangel recorded his seventh shutout of the season. Seven shutouts is the most by a HM team since 1986. Once again the road to the State Tournament goes through White Bear Lake, a playoff opponent of HM for the tenth time in the last twelve years. Led by their top line of Casey Parenteau, Dan Bonne, and Matt Greer, the Bears have lost only once since New Year's Day. They defeated a defensive minded North St. Paul team who kept the game tied well into the third period before White Bear escaped with a 3-1 win. This is the 30th consecutive season HM has advanced to the section semis, by far the longest current such streak. Elk River and Roseville extended their respective streaks to 13 this year. At least one Edina school made it to the section semis every year in a 42 year span from 1960 to 2001. [Home] [History] [Schedule] [Standings] [Roster] [Video] [Links]
